What is Costa Rica like?
Located in Central America, below Nicaragua and above Panama, Costa Rica has unlimited tourist potential and is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations. Costa Rica is a place made of waterfalls, volcanos, white sand beaches, rocky coves, rain-forests, and amazing pink and orange sunsets. Although the country is small and covers only 0.03 % of the surface of the globe, it is home to 6% of the existing biodiversity in the world. The people of Costa Rica are some of the friendliest in the world and embody the Pura Vida lifestyle that is signature to the country.
What airport should we fly into?
We recommend flying into Liberia International. Liberia ‘Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport’ (LIR) airport is about 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Tamarindo.
Other option: San Jose ‘Juan Santamaría International Airport’ (SJO) is a 4-5 hour drive to Tamarindo or 56 min connecting flight to Tamarindo. We suggest SJO if wanting to explore Manuel Antonio or La Fortuna.
Do I need to rent a car?
Transportation will be provided from airport to hotel, however you are more than welcome to opt to rent a car especially if you plan to explore further parts of CR! We recommend a 4x4 vehicle.
- If you’re not renting a car: golf cart and ATV rentals are available in Tamarindo. More information provided under “Travel” page.
Cala Luna Hotel concierge also offers $6 one way rides anywhere in town, as well as free bicycle rentals.

Tamarindo does not have many large, all-inclusive resorts. Tamarindo has a number of boutique hotels, beach villas, Airbnbs, and hostels with private room options. Some locations include certain meals or drinks in the rate.
However, all-inclusive Occidental Tamarindo is located in Playa Langosta.

Are children invited to the wedding?
While we're happy to have children join us for the trip, we kindly ask they be left out of the wedding ceremony and reception to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable evening for all our guests. We encourage parents to take advantage of a child-free getaway, but if needed, we can assist in arranging childcare for the duration of the wedding night.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place on the beach, uncovered. Dinner will be in a covered open-air pavilion.
What should I wear/what is beach formal?
June in Tamarindo averages highs of 80 degrees and lows of 70 degrees. Please dress in chic beach attire (no shorts or swimwear). Think airy, elegant, and comfortable. We want everyone to feel relaxed as we say "I do" by the ocean!
